Once upon a time millionaires were the upper echelon of personal wealth. Then came the multi-millionaires. Now we have billionaires. But, they seem to feel that a billion dollars is not enough so we have multi-billionaires. WTF?
The economic system that has made all this possible has also created huge wealth inequality. All boats are not rising.
There are roughly 800 billionaires in the U.S ( over 2700 worldwide ). The top 12, according to inequality.org, have a total net worth* of 2 trillion dollars. They are not the 1%ers, they are probably close to being the .0001%ers.
For me, this extreme wealth is an additional definition of obscenity. Not in the context of the stimulation of sexual pornography but, obscene porn like behavior that stimulates the billionaire’s ego, Although there are some billionaires that do some good with their wealth, there are others that look to do harm to, or take advantage of, the less fortunate for their own out of proportion benefit, or just to be mean assholes.
